Winning the SEO Battle for Richard Frnka · Part 1

Disappointing Results from Search

Whenever I search my own name, I am disappointed in the Google results. First up is my LinkedIn — fine, expected, that’s mine. But right underneath it is a genuinely terrible law article linking to a DUI appeal case. That’s not me. That’s my cousin. Cool, cool, love that this is one of the first things people see.

Then there’s a Ricky Frnka, who is also not me — different guy, different bio, different life. Scattered further down are a handful of links and photos that actually are me, mostly scraps from an old website I haven’t touched in years. Here’s what greeted me:

Google search results for “Richard Frnka,” showing a LinkedIn profile, a DUI court case involving a different Frnka, a Ricky Frnka bio, and other unrelated results

So here’s the goal: I want websites and articles that I actually want people to see when they search my name. Not my cousin’s DUI appeal. Not a stranger named Ricky. Me — my work, my background, what I’m actually building.

The plan

The plan is to build a small network of pages that reinforce each other — real content, proper SEO tags, and links between them — until that network simply outranks the noise.

First up: updating my frnka.github.io pages. It’s free to host and set up through GitHub Pages, so there’s no excuse for it to be stale.

Second: Frnka Enterprises itself, right here at frnka.net. This one should rank very highly — it’s the most actively maintained site I’ve got.

We’ll see what happens from there. I may add another personal site. Maybe I’ll finally buy back richardfrnka.com. Stay tuned for more.

I shall be victorious.
